A New Partnership; Code.org

Starting a business is hard!  It doesn’t matter if it is a for-profit startup or a non-profit like Kids & Code; much of the challenges are the same.  To make it work you have to put in long hours, wear many hats, make the right connections, and choose the rights partnerships.

Kids & Code has made some great partnerships already, such as CoderDojo, but we are excited to announce a new and very important partnership.

We are happy to share and announce that Kids & Code is now an International Partner of Code.org and a Canadian/International Partner of Hour of Code.

This partnership gives Kids & Code much deserved exposer across Canada and allows us to be found and communicated with much easier; meaning Canadian schools, teachers, and parents will have someone to reach out to.  It also allows us the use of great resources and teaching material that all of our students across Canada will benefit from.

Code.org®, much like Kids & Code, is a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented minorities. Their vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science, just like biology, chemistry or algebra. Code.org organizes the annual Hour of Code campaign which has engaged 10% of all students in the world, and provides the leading curriculum for K-12 computer science in the largest school districts in the United States. Code.org is supported by tech giants including Microsoft, Facebook, Google, and many more.
